As a Network Specialist you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of network communications. You will be responsible for installs, configures, and support of the software and hardware components of internal/external networks, as well as deploys and maintains all systems, applications and related computer equipment. The Networking Specialist troubleshoots network performance and provides technical guidance to end users.

Assist in network design and capacity planning projects
Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery
Establish service level agreements with end users
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
Skills / Qualifications:
University degree in computer science, software engineering, or computer engineering, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
Advanced overall knowledge of networking architectures
Proficiency with networks, firewalls, encryption, and other aspects of network security technologies
Certification from major vendors is an asset – Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, HP, etc.
Highly effective project management skills
Ability to explain technical concepts and theories to non-technical audiences
Solid written and verbal communication
Strong analytical skills balanced with effective communication and excellent customer service skills
