Job Purpose (Job Summary):
Responsible for managing significant projects (e.g strategic change management, new business and product initiatives, process re-engineering, establishment of control procedures Sometimes referred to as internal consultants, typically work on multi-disciplinary projects and require a broad knowledge of the firm and its key functions. Use knowledge of the PMO development methodology to monitor and ensure completion of projects on schedule. These projects require full time commitment and are not undertaken by staff having other operating responsibilities. Strong quantitative, analytic and project management skills are required.
Key Responsibilities / Duties: Manage medium/large sized projects through a complete project lifecycleOversee the delivery of one or more work streams within a programOversee the delivery of several small/medium sized projectsAdhere to the PMO project methodologyDefine Project Charter (e.g. project objectives, scope and deliverables) and validate alignment with business and system strategiesLead reviews of requirements and designs with relevant stakeholders to obtain agreement and sign offCreate estimates of effort, costs and timescales for proposed projects and take responsibility for managing against these estimatesAssist in prioritization/phasing of project deliverablesSecure and coordinate the necessary resources for a project by working with appropriate line managers including any vendor or third party resourcesDevelop and manage communications plans supporting the project; including but not limited, to status reporting, management of issues and risksScope/Change managementOrderly close-out of project, including, but not limited to, conducting Sponsor Satisfaction Survey and 'lessons learnt' as appropriateSupervise day-to-day work of project teamLead and motivate staff on the project teamKey contributor to the continuous improvement and development of the PMO project methodologyContributor to the ongoing development of the PMO book of businessMay supervise day-to-day work and coaching of less senior PMO staff members, but will not have a formal staff management role
Work Experience / Knowledge: Experience managing projects including responsibility for the whole project life cycle
Ideally, will have managed multi-discipline projects and/or phases of projects with teams of up to 10 people and of a minimum length of 9 months
Expert practitioner of PMO project methodology
Broad knowledge of systems and business processes in at least one business area
Ideally, will have had experience of negotiating with external parties / suppliers
People management experience
Proficient user of the Microsoft suite of products, including Project and Office
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required: Excellent written communication skills (to include process flowcharting, and formal business solutions documents)
Strong verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
Able to influence and build relationships at all levels internally and externally
Strong customer focused attitude
Strong experience of negotiation, influencing and conflict management
Creative problem solver - able to challenge and propose solutions which challenge the status quo

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties) A Bachelor's Degree, Graduate or Graduate Caliber, or equivalent qualification is preferred
License/Registration/Certification: (minimum requirement to perform job duties) Formal project management training and/or qualification (i.e. PMI PMP certificate) preferred.
Working Conditions: Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures
Able to lift up to 10 lbs. (or 4.5 kg)
Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment.
